Day 1: Thimphu
Arrive at Paro International Airport and meet your guide. Begin your journey with a drive to Thimphu (approximately 1 hour), stopping en route to visit Tamchog Lhakhang, a historically significant temple. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check in to your hotel and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, visit the National Memorial Chorten, a serene site for reflection, followed by a trip to the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s unique national animal. Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu
After breakfast, embark on a morning hike to Kuensel Phodrang, home to the Great Buddha Dordenma statue, offering panoramic views of the valley. In the afternoon, visit the National Institute of Zorig Chusum (arts and crafts school) and the Royal Textile Academy to learn about Bhutan’s cultural heritage. Continue to Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the government and monastic body. Conclude the day with a visit to the Authentic Bhutanese Craft Bazaar and Kaja Throm (Farmer’s Market). Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3: Punakha
After breakfast, drive to Punakha (approximately 3 hours), stopping at the breathtaking Dochu La Pass for scenic views of the Himalayan range. On reaching Lobesa, enjoy a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility. After lunch at your hotel, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Later, explore the Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang Nunnery. Overnight in Punakha.
Day 4: Paro
Post breakfast, embark on a drive back to Paro (4–5 hours). Upon
arrival, check in to your hotel and relax over lunch. In the afternoon,
visit the National Museum housed in the Ta Dzong, followed by a tour of
the Paro Rinpung Dzong, a significant cultural and religious site. In the
evening, unwind with a visit to the Namgay Artisanal Brewery to taste
locally crafted beers. Overnight in Paro.
Day 5: Paro
After breakfast, hike up to the iconic Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger’s
Nest), perched dramatically on a cliffside. The trek offers
stunning views and a profound spiritual experience. On your
return, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.
Spend the evening at leisure, enjoying the serene environment.
Overnight in Paro.
Day 6: Depart
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport to board
your flight to your onward destination, carrying cherished
memories of Bhutan’s rich culture, landscapes, and warmth.
