Day 1: Thimphu
Arrive at Paro International Airport and meet your guide. Drive to Thimphu, stopping en route to visit Tachog Lhakhang, a historic temple. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, visit the National Memorial Chorten, a revered monument, followed by a trip to the Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s unique national animal. Spend the night at a hotel in Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu
Start the morning with a hike to Kuensel Phodrang, home to the majestic Great Buddha Dordenma statue and panoramic views of the valley. After lunch, visit the National Institute of Zorig Chusum (arts and crafts school) and the Royal Textile Academy. End the day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, Bhutan’s administrative and religious center. In the evening, explore the Authentic Bhutanese Craft Bazaar and the Kaja Throm Farmer’s Market. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3: Punakha
After breakfast, drive to Punakha, pausing at the scenic Dochu La Pass for stunning Himalayan views. Upon reaching Lobesa, take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility. Check in to your hotel and have lunch. Later, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of two rivers. Overnight in Punakha
Day 4: Punakha
Begin the day with a hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten,
offering spectacular views of the Punakha Valley. Spend the
morning relaxing at your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Sangchhen
Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang Nunnery and Kaja Throm (Farmer’s
Market). Overnight in Punakha.
Day 5: Phobjikha
Drive to the picturesque Phobjikha Valley, renowned for its
natural beauty. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy
lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Gangtey Monastery, a key
religious site, followed by a walk on the serene Gangtey Nature
Trail. Overnight in Phobjikha.
Day 6: Phobjikha
This morning, hike along the Longtey Trail, soaking in the pristine environment. After lunch, visit the Black-necked Crane Education Centre to learn about these rare birds that winter in the valley. Overnight in Phobjikha.
Day 7: Paro
After breakfast, drive to Paro, arriving in time for lunch. In the
afternoon, visit Ta Dzong (National Museum), which showcases
Bhutan’s cultural heritage, and Paro Rinpung Dzong, a significant
historical site. In the evening, enjoy a stroll around Paro town.
Overnight in Paro.
Day 8: Paro
Embark on a full-day excursion to the enchanting Haa Valley,
with a stop at the high-altitude Chele La Pass for breathtaking
views. After lunch, visit Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) and
Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple). Return to Paro for a relaxing
evening. Overnight in Paro.
Day 9: Paro
Hike up to the iconic Taktsang Lhakhang (Tiger’s Nest), perched
on a cliff and offering spiritual and scenic rewards. On the way
back, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.
Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight in Paro.
Day 10: Depart
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward
journey, cherishing the memories of your Bhutanese adventure.
